In KL I met my girlfriend Manuela. Fortunately she could take her holidays a few weeks earlier so that I had not to wait to long for her. We drove by bus inland in direction to Thailand and made on the Malaysian border islands Pulao Pankhor and Lankawi stops for a few days. There we could taste the beautiful beaches, the warm water and the fantastic Asiatic cuisine.
But after only a few days our journey took us further on. We travelled up the northern part of the west coast until we arrived in Krabi a tourist center in the southern part of Thailand. Krabi is a very lively small town with an Italian pizzeria, docent of internet cafes and also a lot of tourists.

High coconut trees, a white dream beach, and a lot of limestone rock, a dream for every climber. Unfortunately is this known from a lot of travellers and it was not even easy to get some cheap bungalow. With a little bit of luck and patience we got the bungalow we wanted.
After having a nice place on the beach to stay we walked to search the climbing cracks. We didn't have to walk for long time to find the first climbers. Direct on the south of Raih Leh beach east is one of the frequencies climbing spots of the hole place. A lot of tourists and travellers are trying to make the first moves under instruction of an Thai climbing guide.
For this reason you find in all of the Thai climbing spots climbs in all different grades. There are only in the surroundings of Raih Leh Beach over 500 routes all spited and very well done. Only there you can stay forever. There is a cool flair and a special atmosphere. When I was talking with climbers all over the world I was serious thinking about this.
Unfortunately we had to leave after only 10 unforgettable days. We went by ferry to Phi Phi Island.
Who was there once can understand the disapointment we felt. After living isolated and fixed in mind about climbing in Rai Leh the mass tourismus flashed us on this island. We have not seen for about two weeks so much people an there were a lot of diving schools, ships, longtailboats, shops and restaurants.
